ASSTC partners with National Law University for training of revenue officials
Assam Survey and Settlement Training Centre (ASSTC) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding with the National Law University and Judicial Academy, Assam (NLUJAA) to impart capacity-building training to revenue officials by exchanging qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
ASSTC principal Prabir Kumar Dutta and MLTJAA registrar Gunajit Roy Choudhury signed the Mou in the presence of Assam revenue minister Jogen Mohan.
The objective of the MoU is also segregation of the training campaign paradigm into broad parameters of policy and field collaborative research and information sharing.
The MoU aims to elevate the legal expertise of the revenue officers of the state by providing consultancy on legal aspects.
As part of the MoU, ASSTC and NLIJAA will jointly organize seminars, conferences, workshops training programmes and special lectures on topics of mutual interest and to invite other faculties to participate therein.
The officials of the amalgamated establishments of the director of land records and survey etc, will provide internships to the undergraduate or postgraduate students of NLUJAA.
Fund for the implementation of the objectives of the MoU is to be provided by the office of the director of land record and surveys etc.
The validity of the MoU will be for three years from the date of signing of the MoU and the director of land records and surveys will move the government three months prior to the expiry of the MoU for renewal if required.
GD Tripathy, principal secretary, revenue and disaster management department; Shantanu Gotmare, director, land records and surveys; Gitanjali Bhattacharjee, secretary, revenue and disaster management department; and other senior officers of ASSTC, NLUJAA and revenue and disaster management department were present in the signing ceremony.
