Attempted bank robbery in Ri Bhoi foiled
An attempted robbery was reported in Ri Bhoi District. Unknown miscreants broke into the State Bank of India (SBI), ICAR Complex Branch in Umiam, around midnight on May 19.
They forced their way in by breaking the back door grills but couldn’t open the drawer with the money.
The incident came to light on Monday morning when the staff of the SBI ICAR branch arrived at the office and immediately informed the police from Umiam Police Station. The Crime Branch is now investigating the case.
