Authority wake up a week after the road was damage

It took a week for the district administration West Jaintia Hills District and the Meghalaya PWD to realized that the Syntu Ksiar to Iongnoh is no longer safe for commuters as a portion of the road was complete damaged on June 12, last due to incessant rainfalls.

The order for closure of the said road was issued by District Magistrate, West Jaintia Hills on Saturday under section 144 CrPC.

The L026 Syntu Ksiar to Chyrmang Road (L 4.00 Km) is totally damaged due to natural calamity. This ultimately create inconvenience and endangered the lives of human beings who commute through this road and eventually may cause loss to human lives unless immediately prevented.

This Order shall come into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force until further orders.
