Awareness on protection of environment held in Resubelpara

The District Legal Services Authority, North Garo Hills district organised an awareness programme on Protection of the environment including clean environment, ban of plastic and its effects for the students and local people of the area on Wednesday at SGSY Hall, C&RD Block, Resubelpara.

Additional Deputy Commissioner & Member Secretary DLSA, Z J Sangma in his speech sensitized the gathering on the importance of environment management. He added that it was an imperative obligation of all individual to understand the environmental problems and its impact on living being.

He therefore called upon the gathering to support for the protection and preservation of the environment.

P K Sangma, EAC & Executive Officer Resubelpara Municipal Board oriented the gathering on the importance of clean environment, banning of plastic and its hazardous effects for environment, animal and human health. Stressing on plastic ban, she informed that measures to curb the use of plastic and its prohibition would soon take place in the area.

Addressing the gathering on Forest and Environment Protection, L R Marak, Range Forest Officer, Dainadubi Range, NGH spoke at length on environmental pollution, global warming and climate change, water crisis, etc. and various laws regulated for the protection of forest and environment.
