Awareness Programme on RTI held in Jowai

JOWAI: An awareness programme on Right to Information (RTI) was held today in the Conference Room DC’s office, Jowai.

The awareness programme was conducted by the office of Deputy Commissioner, West Jaiñtia Hills in collaboration with the Meghalaya State Information Commission, Shillong for the PIOs and dealing assistants of all the office within the District.

Deputy Commissioner C.P Gotmare, IAS who was also present , said the Right to information is not just about disseminating information to the public when  asked for but  it is a duty now,  to share information about the schemes and status of various projects for the welfare of the people and for transparency working of office.  

RS Manners, Additional Deputy Commissioner highlighted on the functioning and implementation of RTI in the state of Meghalaya.

F Basan, EAC and I. Phawa, Assistant Research Officer, District Planning Branch were the other resource person who gave presentation on RTI.
