Basaiawmoit alleges consultants wasting time playing PUBG, 2 Govt Advisers enjoying cricket in Dubai

Opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) chief Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit on Friday alleged the consultants appointed by the state government of wasting their time in playing “PUB-G”.

“The consultants appointed by the state government most of the time are playing PUBG. This is not the way as they depend on locals but enjoying all the credits,” Bassaiawmoit said while participating in the Assembly during the general discussion on the budget.

He also questioned if consultants are appointed in different departments then what is the use of having engineers, MCS and other officers when they cannot exercise their duties.

“I was told that some officers are rendered jobless and that these consultants don’t even pay respect to the officers as they feel they have direct connection with the CM’s office and this undermines and affects those officers in regular departments,”Basaiawmoit said.

Further, the Nongkrem legislator also took a jibe at the two Advisers to the government of Meghalaya for enjoying watching cricket in Dubai despite the ongoing budget session of the Assembly.

“As the government is in session, two Advisers to the government are enjoying watching cricket in Dubai. This raised a lot of questions and people have the right to ask whether they (Advisers) are using public money or whether they are using government facilities or not,” he said.
