Batbitbha Bareh becomes first woman National Referee from East Jaintia Hills
Batbitbha Bareh has become the first woman from East Jaintia Hills District in Meghalaya to achieve the status of a National Level Football Referee (Level 5).
In a letter to the General Secretary of the Meghalaya Football Association, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Director of State Referees informed that Batbitbha Bareh successfully completed all four components of the National Examinations (Level 5) for 2024, which include Fitness, Theory, Practical and Viva exams.
Additionally, Bulmi Phawa from the West Jaintia District Sports Association also passed the examination for NE 2023.
Batbitbha Bareh has also completed a diploma course in Sports Coaching in Football from SAI Netaji Subhas Eastern Centre, Kolkata, in 2019.
The East Jaintia Hills District Football Association (EJHDFA) and the West Jaintia District Sports Association (WJDSA) congratulate both referees and wish them success in their future careers.
