Bethany Hospital Shillong inaugurates expanded Dialysis Unit
Bethany Hospital Shillong unveiled its newly expanded Dialysis Unit on July 11. The unit now features 10 state-of-the-art machines, enhancing its capacity to serve patients efficiently. Haemodialysis, a critical treatment for renal conditions, drove this expansion in response to growing demand.
Dr. Kyntiewlang Sanmiet, RMO in charge of the Dialysis Unit and Spokesperson for Bethany Hospital, expressed enthusiasm: “We are delighted to unveil our enhanced Dialysis Unit, equipped with advanced technology imported from Italy. This ensures optimal care for patients requiring dialysis and reinforces our dedication to meeting the healthcare needs of our community.”
He said beneficiaries of the Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) can now avail benefits for haemodialysis covered under MHIS, making this vital treatment affordable and accessible to all patients.
Notably, the Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is also equipped with haemodialysis machines to provide necessary treatments for critical patients.
Furthermore, the department has been serving tourists from different parts of the country who require maintenance haemodialysis during their visit to the beautiful state of Meghalaya. This initiative reflects Bethany Hospital’s commitment to providing comprehensive healthcare solutions beyond local communities.
