Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav launched in East Jaintia Hills District
To commemorate the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence, , the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” programme was jointly launched by the Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), East Jaintia Hills District, Khliehriat, DS Marbaniang and the Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District, E Kharmalki IAS, on Friday at Rymbai Community Hall, Iew Pinsing, Rymbai.
While addressing on the occasion, E Kharmalki, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, East Jaintia Hills District spoke about the problems that the district is facing such as road connectivity, electricity, water supply, health services among others. He also said that being the head of the district, he is taking necessary actions to ensure that all these basic services are accessible to the people in different parts of the district.
DS Marbaniang, Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Khliehriat in his speech gave a brief introduction of the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav”. He informed that the “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” is a yearlong programme which will continue till August 15, 2022 and many more programmes will be organized under it in the coming months. He also highlighted the contributions of the freedom fighters of the state and the country who participated in India’s freedom struggle.
Others who also spoke include JS Mairom MPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, East Jaintia Hills District, P Joshi, Secretary Jaintia Cement Manufacturer Association and B Rymbai, Secretary Rymbai village.
