BJP asks Meghalaya CM to immediately release funds under Focus
BJP leader and Tura MDC Bernard N Marak on Tuesday asked Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma to release Rs 5,000 under FOCUS, FOCUS+ and other women’s schemes to the beneficiaries at the earliest.
Marak said that hope given to the poor should not be betrayed, but honoured.
“Conrad Sangma being raised to CM post by BJP should understand “Antyodaya” in BJP is very important in implementations of schemes. It is our duty as a Karyakarta to make sure that no one is left out in availing the schemes,” he said in a statement.
Marak said that the BJP will walk an extra mile to ensure that the last person in the society avails the same scheme and facility as the first one.
He further alleged that farmer’s scheme has been diverted into other schemes with sole intention to sabotage the benefits meant fot the PM KISAN beneficiaries whose accounts remain empty even after 3 years.
The promises made to the farmers by the Prime Minister remained unattended by the state government and its officers and ministers.
“Money is sanctioned by the Centre government through the Schemes and various flagship programs meant for the producer’s groups which was converted into FOCUS and FOCUS+ and PM KISAN card holders are left dry and high. The impression on the ground and wrong information passed by the agents on the ground was that Centre government did not release the money for the farmers,” he said.
The BJP also slammed the NPP led government in the state for making it look like BJP government under the leadership of Narendra Modiji deprived the farmers.
He said to dig deeper into the anomalies, we have filed RTIs and reply is awaited which we hope will reveal many hidden secrets.
“BJP cannot be a mute spectator when our schemes are manipulated and poor are deprived. Antyodaya is our mission,” he said.
Stating that no beneficiary should be deprived, Marak said that all schemes should reach all beneficiaries irrespective of their political affiliations. He again requested the CM to release the funds at the earliest.
