BJP MDC accuses MDA of wrongly informing the Centre on implementation of central schemes
BJP MDC from Tura Bernard N Marak on Monday accused the NPP-led MDA government of feeding wrong information to the Centre on implementation of the various central schemes in the state.
In a statement, Marak said that initiatives taken by the Centre Government to reach out to the poor and needy remains a farfetched dream due to failure of the state mechanism which failed to deliver the schemes to the beneficiaries.
Stating that the Jal jeevan mission has failed to reach every household and connection of running water has turned into a joke in most villages, he further alleged that the approved pipes disappeared and were replaced by the plastic pipes in many places.
Marak cited that in Tura, the Tura water supply scheme also failed to supply running water to the city folks and there is much difficulty in getting sufficient water.
Asking the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma to deliver the schemes to the genuine beneficiaries instead of making media hype, the BJP leader said, “If debated, CM will find himself in a very awkward position.”
He further alleged that the Farmer’s card is one such failure where the actual farmers are deprived of this scheme whereas those people whose names has been forwarded by the political workers of the ruling party gets approved.
“In job card, the accounts of the beneficiaries is not updated to the Centre stating that the job card holders have no accounts and do not use mobiles. The wages are not paid to the villagers in full and the blocks keep blaming the Centre for nonpayment of the wages,” he said while adding that the “Zero” balance account of the women did not get any benefit till today and the same with old age pensioners, widow pensioners etc.
According to him, the BJP’s initiative to support the poor and the weak has been made into a mere dream to the people in general.
