BJP Meghalaya takes up ILP, language issues with Amit Shah
The state BJP led by its president Rikman G Momin along with cabinet minister AL Hek called upon union home minister Amit Shah on Thursday.
Shah arrived in Shillong and inaugurated Cyber Security Operations Centre at HQ Assam Rifles at Laitkor. He will also chair the plenary meeting of the North Eastern Council (NEC) on Friday.
The delegation discussed specific issues concerning the affairs of the state such as the inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the Eighth Schedule, ILP, and opening of international trade routes to Bangladesh through Meghalaya .
The home minister gave a patient hearing and agreed to look into all matters earnestly.
He has also invited a delegation of church leaders for a meeting in Delhi along with the party president and cabinet minister AL Hek to discuss matters relating to FCRA and allotment of land in NCR to KJP Synod.
