BJP Minister Sanbor Shullai felicitated over 151 land owners from Lumparing area

BJP Minister in the Meghalaya Government Sanbor Shullai on Saturday felicitated over 150 land owners for donating their lands free of cost for construction of various PWD motorable roads within the greater Lumparing area.

Speaking on the occasion, Shullai said that people must take example from these 151 land owners of the constituency who are willing to part with their lands for implementation of various developmental schemes and projects for the benefit of the public in general.

“I must thank the monitoring committee of the South Shillong constituency, all 151 landowners, the dorbar shnong of Lower and Upper Lumparing, Laban Riat Madan and Mynsian, the religious leaders of all faiths for the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for utilisation of their land for construction of various PWD motorable road in the constituency,” said Shullai.

Shullai said that the land owners despite not receiving any compensation from the state government yet they are ready to part with their land for construction of various PWD motorable roads and implementation for the benefits of the general public of the constituency.

He added that though there is no compensation yet the PWD department has agreed to provide little assistance for renovation of the wall or houses if required.

Meanwhile, Shullai also handed over the work orders for construction of RCC slab cover over the stream from Smile School at Dhobi Ghat up to the resident of John Wahlang and other at Jumer Lane Laban covering about 0.2036 km at the cost of Rs. 1.13 crores and another work order for construction of road from a Bridge of one resident Nora Hynniewta and Ekindro Diengdoh up to the existing PWD road opposite the MeECL at Mawnei covering 0.281 km at Rs.4.72 crores.
