BJP MLA seeks development of SCG for NG, 2022

SHILLONG: BJP South Shillong legislator Sanbor Shullai has sought the intervention of the Union Minister of State for Sports and Youth Affairs, Kiren Rijiju for development of the Shillong Cantonment ground for the National Games, 2022.

A statement issued here on Saturday informed that Shullai met the minister at his residence on January 21 and apprised him of the political developments of the state and urged more support for holding the National Games, 2022 as the image of the state is at stake.

This would include development of Shillong Cantonment ground for National Games 2022 and also for the welfare of the civilians residing in Shillong cantonment area, it said.

The MLA also urged the minister to organize future youth development programmes to be funded by the central government.

In this regard various stakeholders, social welfare and sports club for implementation of such programs where the local youth can be mobilized.

The MLA urged minister to support a programme to connect job providers and job seekers so that the local youth can get benefit from such inititiative. The MLA has sought party support to organise youth development programme in the South Shillong constituency as a start to the future initiatives.
