BJP releases panchayat election ‘sankalp patra’ with the mantras of gramoday, sarvoday, antyoday, and rashtraday

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Saturday said, “My work over the past four years has been about challenging the established mindset. A mindset that has set Assam back by 75 years. A mindset that has kept Assam in a state of dependency. A mindset that has forced every chief minister of Assam to beg to Delhi.”
Sarma made this statement during the unveiling of the “sankalp patra” (pledge document) released by the Assam unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the Panchayat elections.
“We are challenging that very mindset and striving to build a new society where Assam will assume a new role a society where Assam will be a contributory state in India’s development. Assam will no longer be a begging region, instead, it will, even if just a small part contribute to the progress of India. When ministers from Delhi visit it’s termed a flood situation. We do not want money from Delhi. We aspire to have the courage and strength to build our own embankments with our own resources. In this mission of creating a new society, we are moving forward with the deals of the BJP,” Sarma said.
“Modiji envisages a vision where we are not a burden to the country., not a part of that fails to contribute to Bharat mata’s development. We must be part of the nation to strengthen Baharat mata and help her rise in the global stage. If I were to compare the nation to a human body then Assam must be the lungs the liver the strongest and most vital organs of Bharat Mata,” the Chief Minister said.
The Chief Minister further added that through the establishment of a strong Panchayati Raj system, there lies an opportunity to accelerate grassroots development even more. While the government has already constructed 2,000 kilometres of roads, the combined initiatives of Panchayats under MGNREGA and the Public Works Department can help build an additional 2,000 kilometres.
Referring to the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, he mentioned that the process of constructing 3.5 lakh new houses is already underway and emphasized that through the Chief Minister’s Housing Scheme, the government will soon ensure that every poor family in Assam has a home.
At the ‘Panchayat Election 2025 Sankalp Patra’ unveiling ceremony held at the BJP State Headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan, from 9 am, BJP State President Diplu Saikia remarked that the real builders of a Safe Assam, a Developed Assam, and a Great Assam are the common people.
He said that BJP prepares its manifesto for every election only after taking suggestions from the public, and this time too, the ‘Sankalp Patra’ has been prepared after receiving feedback from people across all sections.
More than 3,500 individuals sent their suggestions via email, and the document was prepared accordingly.
In his speech, Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia thanked the workers and the public for the record number of uncontested candidate victories already achieved in the preliminary stage of the Panchayat elections. He also highlighted the tireless sacrifices made by party workers under the guiding principle of “Service is Organization.”
Stating that no election for BJP is just a quarterfinal or semifinal, Diplu Saikia said that every election — from Panchayat to Parliament — is a “final” for the BJP, and the Panchayat election holds equal importance.
He also lauded the developmental activities led by the government under Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The event, anchored by BJP general secretary Diplu Ranjan Sharma, began with Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass, convenor of the Panchayat Election Sankalp Patra Compilation Committee, explaining the objectives of the ceremony.
The ‘ Sankalp Patra’ has been prepared, encompassing several unique aspects while trying to reflect BJP’s core ideology.
With the vision of Mahatma Gandhi’s ” Gramoday,” Acharya Vinoba Bhave’s “Sarvoday,” Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s “Antyoday,” and the ideas of “Rashtraday” championed by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi, this time’s Panchayat Election ‘Sankalp Patra’ has been crafted.
