BJP slams those branding it as Hindu party

BJP in-charge Meghalaya, Dr Chuba Ao has slammed those who are attempting to brand the saffron party as a hindu party.

“Why people are not accepting BJP (here) as it is being branded as Hindu party. But I will tell you this is a wrong message that has gone to the people,” Dr Ao told reporters on Thursday.

He said India is such a country with an accommodative spirit and this was written in the official book of Israel.

“India is the only country which respects all religions…(However) somebody is misinterpreting that it is torturing Christians, Islams and all these things,” Dr Ao added.
