BJP will throw away Constitution if it returns to power: Prithviraj Sathe at Boko
Congress national secretary Prithviraj Sathe on Saturday reiterated that the BJP will throw away the Constitution of India if it returns to power again.
Addressing an election campaign rally organized by the Goroimari Block Congress Committee at Goroimari Town Club Field on Saturday, Sarthe said the ongoing Lok Sabha poll is not a normal election, but a fight between two ideologies.
The meeting was organized to campaign for for Congress candidate for Guwahati Lok Sabha seat, Mira Borthakur Goswami.
“The STs, OBCs got several rights because of the Constitution which also gave the people MGNREGA, land rights, reservation, and other things. If the BJP comes to power, it will throw away this Constitution,” Sarthe said.
Sathe alleged that the BJP would cut all the benefits of special castes and communities if it won 400 MPs in the Lok Sabha.
Sarthe also accused that the wrong policies followed by the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre gave rise to the prices in the country, due to which made the lives of common people miserable.
“Why they are privatising PSUs, the railways and other sectors,” he asked.
“Modi is selling Indian resources on one hand and shouting slogans like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao on the other. Modi has not uttered a single word about the abuse of women from Olympic winners to Manipur and Karnataka incidents as well,” he further said.
The Congress leader urged the people to vote for Mira Barthakur Goswami, a strong voice of women’s society, to raise the issues of all classes of citizens in the Parliament.
In his address, Gaurav Gogoi said the wind was blowing in favour of Meera Borthakur Goswami everywhere in Guwahati.
“Modi is the most rhetorical Prime Minister and BJP is the most rhetorical government. BJP is taking votes in the name of lies and propaganda by talking about several Congress schemes including Mamoni, Baideo, Majni, Na Bawari etc,” Gogoi said.
“BJP has opened liquor shops in villages to destroy the young generation and if the Congress comes to power, it will open schools instead of liquor shops,” Gogoi also said.
Assam Congress president Bhupen Kumar Borah, Congress spokespersons Ajay Kumar and Mahima Singh also spoke on the occasion.
Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi, AJP president Lurinjyoti Gogoi, Chaygaon MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed, Guwahati candidate Mira Borthakur Goswami and other senior Congress party leaders took part in the meeting.
