Boys assaulted in Shillong

Five boys were assaulted by miscreants while they were playing basketball at Lawsohtun block-VI on Friday afternoon.

The incident took plact at around 12.30 pm when a group of 20 boys came to the ground and assaulted them with iron rods, sticks and bamboo, police said.

They said the injured boys identified as Aridam Das (22) of Laban, Subharshi Das Purkayastha (22) and Saptarshi (20) of Lastop, Pinak Deb (23) of Baraparhar and Bishal Ghosh (24) of Lachumiere were taken to the hospital and later were discharged after treatment.

According to police, FIRs have been filed by the parents of three boys.
