BSF ADG Ravi Gandhi reviews operational readiness on Indo-Bangladesh border
Additional Director General (ADG) of Border Security Force (BSF) Eastern Command, Kolkata, Ravi Gandhi, conducted a comprehensive review of operational preparedness and security along the Indo-Bangladesh international border in Coochbehar on Sunday. His visit aimed to assess border security measures, infiltration threats, and trans-border crime prevention under the jurisdiction of Guwahati Frontier BSF.
On the first day of his three-day visit, Gandhi was briefed at Sector Headquarters Coochbehar by Inspector General (IG) Sanjay Gaur and senior officers. The discussions focused on current security challenges, particularly those arising from unrest in Bangladesh, and the strategic countermeasures being implemented to safeguard border regions.
As part of his inspection, Gandhi visited multiple Border Out Posts (BOPs) under the Sector HQ Coochbehar, where he engaged with field commanders, reviewed border domination plans, and assessed operational preparedness to counter potential threats.
He stressed the importance of maintaining peace and security along the border, ensuring safety for local communities while keeping criminal activities in check.
Commending the tireless efforts of BSF personnel, Gandhi praised the Guwahati Frontier’s proactive measures in curbing border crimes and effectively securing the international boundary. He urged troops to remain highly vigilant and continue their dedicated efforts in safeguarding the nation’s borders.
His visit reaffirmed BSF’s commitment to ensuring a secure, crime-free Indo-Bangladesh border, reinforcing India’s border defence strategies amid evolving security challenges.
