BSF apprehends 18 persons, seized items worth Rs 4.5 Cr
The Border Security Force (BSF) has seized over 300 cattle and other items worth Rs 4.53 crore last month from along the international border with Bangladesh.
The BSF has also apprehended 8 Indians and 10 Bangladeshi nationals on international border.
The items seized include 392 Cattle – Rs 54,83,900, 80507 Kg Pea – Rs 73,85,672, 35 vehicles- Rs 1,41,70,000 and Misc -Rs 1,82,83,553
U K Nayal, DIG PRO BSF Meghalaya said, “It is commendable that BSF troops are performing exceedingly well despite interference while exercising its power to seize contraband items at ground level.”
He also added that there should be no pretence or compromise when it comes to the security of our nation.
