BSF, BGB hold Sector Commander-Level Meeting to boost Indo-Bangladesh border security

A Sector Commander Level Coordination Meeting between the Border Security Force (BSF) of India and the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) was held on Thursday at the BGB Border Outpost (BOP) in Bijoypur, Bangladesh. The meeting was marked by a cordial and constructive atmosphere, underscoring the shared commitment of both forces to enhancing peace and security along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Leading the discussions were BSF Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Lalit Mohan Sharma of the Tura Sector, DIG Manoj Kumar Barnwal of the Shillong Sector, and BGB Sector Commander of Mymensingh, Colonel Sarker Mohammad Mostafizur Rahman. Battalion commanders and staff officers from both sides also took part in the deliberations.
The talks focused on a range of key issues including tackling trans-border crimes, preventing illegal infiltration, and improving the exchange of real-time information. Both sides emphasized the need for robust coordination to effectively manage border activities and deter unlawful movements.
Reaffirming their resolve to maintain peace along the international boundary, the BSF and BGB agreed to strengthen existing mechanisms for regular dialogue and operational collaboration. The meeting concluded with mutual assurances to deepen bilateral cooperation and uphold border stability through continued engagement and trust-building.
