BSF DG reviewed security on Indo-Bangla border in Meghalaya
Rakesh Asthana, IPS, DG BSF, visited Meghalaya Frontier and reviewed the security scenario on Indo-Bangladesh Border on Saturday.
During the interaction of DG BSF with the officers of the Frontier Meghalaya, Sh Hardeep Singh, Inspector General apprised him about security situation in Meghalaya along International Border and in the hinterland. DG also visited Border Out Post Dawki of West Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya and interacted with troops deployed on border.
On operational front he took stalk of the situation and complemented the troops for their achievements at Border.
DG BSF motivated Comdrs and troops performing duty in all weather conditions round the clock. During interaction, he emphasized to stop all illegal transborder activities which include smuggling of cattle/Narcotics and Human Trafficking. He emphasized on counselling and buddy system to reduce suicide cases in the force. He further explained the existing grievances redressal system available for all Jawans. He also educated troops for using social media platforms in the right perception. He appreciated the discipline and training of BSF which ensured the security of the International Border. Before leaving Border Out Post, DG BSF initiated Plantation Drive.
En-route to border area, DG BSF distributed masks, sanitizers along-with essential eatable items to the needy villagers to strengthen them in fighting against Covid-19 Pandemic. He also interacted with villagers and ensured all possible help from BSF.
