BSF IG says no inputs on militant camps in Bangladesh
Inspector General (IG) of BSF Meghalaya Frontier, Hardeep Singh said there is no specific input about the presence of camps of militant groups from North East in Bangladesh.
“In our meeting, the Border Guards of Bangladesh (BGB) said there was no camp (of NE militants) in Bangladesh,” Singh told reporters at a news conference held on Friday.
The IG said there is also no specific input about the presence of the banned Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) camp in the neighbouring country. “Unless we have specific inputs, we can’t say anything,” he added.
When asked, Singh said not only BSF but other agencies are trying their best to find out if there are any anti-national elements in the neighbouring country.
“We are making all efforts to find out where they are and what they are planning…apart from BSF, all other agencies are doing their best,” he asserted.
