BSF IG visits Indo-Bangla border, reviews operational preparedness ahead of LS polls
Inspector General (IG) of Border Security Force (BSF) Guwahati Frontier, Dinesh Kumar Yadav visited the border under Guwahati Frontier on Friday and reviewed the prevailing security situation and operational preparedness on the Indo-Bangladesh international border ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The IG BSF visited border outposts under Dhubri district on the international border where he was briefed by DIG Dhubri and field commanders about measures to combat various challenges on the border.
Chauhan also discussed various remedies to control trans-border crimes.
On Saturday, Chauhan visited border outposts under Cooochbehar district of West Bengal, took a review of operational preparedness and discussed operational aspects with DIG, commandants and other officers on the border.
The IG also interacted with troops performing duties along the International border. He also applauded the tireless efforts and dedication of bordermen in safeguarding the borders and efforts made by BSF Guwahati Frontier to control crime on Indo-Bangladesh border.
On March 20, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police arrested the Indian head of ISIS, Farooqi alias Harish Ajmal Farukhi along with one of his aides, Anurag Singh alias Rehan son of Manbir Singh from the Dhubri sector of the Indo-Bangladesh border in Dhubri district.
