BSF Meghalaya foils cattle smuggling, apprehends Bangladeshi intruder

Troops of 110 Bn BSF Meghalaya foiled a cattle smuggling attempt near the international border in East Khasi Hills district, apprehending four Indian nationals along with three vehicles carrying 13 cattle meant for smuggling into Bangladesh.
The apprehended individuals failed to justify the possession of the cattle. The operation was conducted on March 29, 2025.
In another operation, based on specific information, troops of 172 Bn BSF apprehended a Bangladeshi national, Shamsuddin, from Sonatan Punji, Sylhet, while he was trying to infiltrate into India through the East Jaintia Hills border.

The apprehended individuals, along with the seized cattle, vehicles, and the Bangladeshi intruder, were handed over to the concerned police stations for further investigation and legal action.
