The BSF Meghalaya on Sunday apprehended three Bangladeshi nationals inside Indian territory in the East Khasi Hills district.

The three Bangladeshi nationals were identified as Mohibur Rehman (30 years) and Kudus Miah (25 years), both residents of Sunamganj district, and Mubarak Hossain (16 years), a resident of Sylhet district.

Acting on specific information, a BSF party stationed at Dangar Tri Junction stopped a Maruti Alto car and, on suspicion, apprehended two Indian touts and three Bangladeshi nationals.

During preliminary questioning, the apprehended Bangladeshi nationals claimed that they had illegally entered Indian territory with the intention of going to Kashmir in search of jobs. The apprehended persons are being handed over to PS Dangar, East Khasi Hills, for further legal formalities.
