BSF seized betel nuts worth Rs 18 lakh

The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday seized 140 bags of dry betel nuts worth more than Rs 18 lakh along the international border in South Garo Hills District.

Sh Kuldeep Saini, Inspector General, Meghalaya Frontier said that, “Operational capabilities of BSF is not affected by COVID -19 Pandemic and BSF making its best efforts to curb smuggling activities of criminals on International Border of Meghalaya.’’

He also applauded the Meghalaya Police for their active participation in the joint operation and wished that such operation may be continued.
