BSF seized clothing items worth Rs 22 lakh in EKH

The Border Security Force (BSF) on Saturday seized clothing items (sarees) worth Rs 22 lakh from along the international border in East Khasi Hills.

The clothing items were meant for smuggling to Bangladesh.

The vehicle loaded with consignment intercepted by troops of 4 Bn BSF in the village area of Pyrdiwah.

When BSF signaled the vehicle to stop, the driver fled towards the forest area leaving the vehicle in the middle of the road. BSF handed over seized items and vehicle to Customs Pynursla for further action.

BSF in 2022 had seized clothing items worth more than Rs 1.2 crores along the International border.
