BSF seized items worth Rs 45 lakh
The Border Security Force (BSF) has confiscated miscellaneous items comprising skin cream, herbal mehndi and tea waste worth over Rs 45 lakh.
The items were meant for smuggling through the border area of village Gaobari under Rongara Police Station South Garo Hills. The area being unfenced is vulnerable for smuggling purposes and facilitates trans-border movement of smugglers and carriers.
On sensing fear of being nabbed by a special party of BSF, smugglers threw their head load and managed to run, taking advantage of the dark. The seized items were handed over to customs for further disposal.
Sh U K Nayal, DIG PRO BSF said that BSF troops are vigilant and active against any anti national activity through the International Border taking all preventive measures against COVID-19 pandemic.
