BSF seized medical accessories worth over Rs 1 Crore, thwarts smuggling to Bangladesh
In a major breakthrough, on October 13, alert troops of the 172nd Battalion BSF Meghalaya seized medical accessories, including IV cannula sets, valued at over Rs 1 crore, intended for smuggling into Bangladesh. The seizure took place near the international border in the East Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya.
Based on specific intelligence, BSF troops carried out a special operation in the Dona area of East Jaintia Hills, intercepting the illegal transport of these medical accessories. The seized goods have been handed over to the Customs Office in Badarpur for further action.
This seizure comes amid heightened efforts by the BSF to curb smuggling activities along the India-Bangladesh border.
