Byatikram Education Conclave concludes in Dhaka
The “Byatikram Education Conclave” organized by Guwahati-based socio-cultural organization “Byatikram MASDO” concluded at the Dhaka Club in Bangladesh, on June 10.
The event was supported by the Assistant High Commission of Bangladesh in Guwahati, JIS University, Friends of Bangladesh, SAARC Cultural Society, North East Solutions, and others.
For the first time, the conclave brought together universities and educational institutions from Eastern India and Bangladesh, fostering educational exchange and building a bridge of communication between the two nations. The event was graced by esteemed dignitaries like Major Shamsul Arefin, chief coordinator, Friends of Bangladesh, and chairman, Bangladesh Foundation for Regional Studies; Dr Shah Mohammad Tanvir Monsur, director general (Consular & Welfare) Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh; Md Kazi Abdul Wadud Dara, state minister of local government and rural development, Bangladesh; Md Aolad Hossain, member of parliament, Bangladesh National Parliament; Pankaj Nath, member of Jatiyo Sangsad, Bangladesh National Parliament; Dr Mridul Hazarika, vice-chancellor, Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankardeva Vishwavidyalaya; Ashim Kumar Ukil, former MP, Bangladesh; Dr Farhad Zahid Shaikh, chief

Byatikram MASDO has a rich history of organizing cultural, social, and economic events in Bangladesh over the past decade. The initiatives include celebrating the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr Bhupen Hazarika in Bangladesh since 2016, publishing Assamese translations of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s ‘Karagarer Dinlipi’ and ‘Unfinished Autobiography,’ and most recently, hosting the “Byatikram Medical Tourism Conclave” on April 21, which significantly impacted the medical sectors of both countries.
Dr Saumen Bharatiya, president of Byatikram MASDOsaid: “The more social, cultural, and economic exchanges between two countries, the stronger the economic and human relations. Byatikram MASDO and Friends of Bangladesh have been working selflessly towards this goal. The ‘Byatikram Education Conclave’ aimed to further strengthen relations through educational exchanges.”
Ruhul Amin, Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Guwahati, appreciated Byatikram MASDO’s efforts and said: “Byatikram MASDO has been exceptional for a long time. The quality of events between Bangladesh and Assam is truly commendable, and this year, they have organized the ‘Byatikram Education Conclave. I am hopeful that this conclave will be beneficial for both Bangladesh and Assam.”
The event commenced with a tribute-paying ceremony to the esteemed writer and cultural activist, Mou Roychowdhury, followed by several panel discussions.
The first panel discussion, on “Bridging the Gap: Collaboration Opportunities between Educational Institutions in India and Bangladesh,” featured Dr Mridul Hazarika, vice-chancellor, Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva Vishwavidyalaya; Dipankar Dutta, founder and president, CEC Group of Institutions; Bidyut Majumder, deputy director – business development, JIS Group; Dr Farhad Zahid Shaikh, chief e-governance of a2i, Bangladesh; and Dr Sanku Bose, group chief executive officer, Techno India Group, Chaitali Sengupta, founder of Asapiring Life, Kolkata.
The second-panel discussion addressed “The Future of Employment and Implications for Education: Preparing Students for the Jobs of Tomorrow in an International Context,” with contributions from Prof (Dr) Ratan Kumar Saha, vice-chancellor, Techno India University, Tripura; Prof Nobonita Chakraborty, lecturer, Dept of EEE, Dhaka International University; Jayashree Ghosh, president, Gyan Educational Trust; Dr Diganta Halder, principal, Sarala Birla Group of Schools; Avik Dutta, senior vice president, Mastersoft; and Dr Bichitra Bikash, assistant registrar (academic), Mahapurush Srimanata Sankardeva Vishwavidyalaya and Prasenjit Sripesh, manager, College Vorti, India.
The third-panel discussion focused on “Challenges and Opportunities in Student Exchange Programs,” featuring Priti Chakraborty, chairman, Universal Medical College and Hospital Ltd, and director, Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka; Dr Binita Bora Dev Choudhury, associate professor, Department of Assamese and Associate Dean, Humanities and Social Sciences, Bhattadev University, Bajali; Ankit Bajaj, MasterSoft; Dr Banashree Sarkar, assistant professor (Sr), Department of Sanskrit, Bhattadev University, Bajali; Dr Madhan Bora, assistant professor, Dept of Yogic Science & Naturopathy, Mahapurusha Srimanta Sankaradeva Viswavidyalaya; and Mili Rahman, Associate Professor, Department of English, Dhaka International University & chairman, BCRP (Bangladesh Center for Research and Planning).
Prestigious institutions such as Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva Vishwavidyalaya, Royal Global University, JIS University, Techno India University, Dhaka International University, Sister Nivedita University, Mastersoft- Accelerating Education; Gyan Educational Institution, CEC, and NERIM Group of Institutions, NB Marks Public Relations, Byatikram Digital, etc participated in the event, marking a significant step in strengthening educational ties between the two nations.
