Byatikram’s Medical Tourism Conclave concludes in Bangladesh
The ‘Medical Tourism Conclave’ organized by Byatikram MASDO, a prominent socio-cultural organization in Assam, culminated at the esteemed Dhaka Club Bangladesh on April 21.
The event, commencing at 10 am, aimed to foster collaboration between healthcare institutions in Eastern India and Bangladesh, paving the way for enhanced medical treatment and healthcare solutions across the two regions.
The conclave saw the esteemed presence of Md Shahriar Alam, MP, former State Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh; Samshul Arefin, Chairman Bangladesh Foundation for Regional Studies and Coordinator, Friends of Bangladesh; and Dr Rita Chowdhury, eminent Indian poet and novelist, Dr Shah Mohammad Tanvir Monsur, director general, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh alongside other distinguished doctors, surgeons, and healthcare administrators from both nations.
Dr Saumen Bharatiya, president of Byatikram MASDO, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We are thrilled to witness the burgeoning potential of medical tourism in Bangladesh. Our unwavering commitment to providing world-class healthcare services drives us forward, and we eagerly anticipate further collaborations and advancements in this dynamic industry.”
Shahriar Alam, MP, former state minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh, emphasized the growing Bangladesh-India health sector ties, highlighting the potential for substantial savings in foreign exchange and enhanced healthcare accessibility, partnerships aligning with the visions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Major (retd) Shamsul Arefin, chairman of the Bangladesh Foundation for Regional Studies and Coordinator of Friends of Bangladesh, underscored the importance of continued cooperation between Bangladesh and India, particularly in the health sector, for the holistic well-being of their people.
He expressed optimism that the conclave would catalyze fostering such collaboration.
Mamun Al Mahtab, Head of the Interventional Hepatology Division at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Medical University, urged patients from India to seek advanced medical care in Bangladesh, citing the country’s poised healthcare sector development.
Dr Mahtab anticipates a significant response and hopes for cooperation at future conclaves.
