Cancer patient dies of COVID-19 in Shillong
A cancer patient, who had tested positive for COVID-19, passed away at the Shillong civil hospital on Friday morning.
Director of Health Services (MI), Dr Aman War said Kjel Sohtun, a resident of Mylliem Mawiong was admitted at the hospital on September 9. She however tested positive for COVID-19 on September 30. “She passed away at 6 am today due to severe hypoxia with COVID-19 with acute respiratory distress syndrome,” Dr War said.
With this, the death toll due to COVID-19 in the state has risen to 52, he added.
