Carolling in Christmas and New Year allowed in Jowai Town
Carolling in respective localities will be allowed in Christmas and New Year in West Jaintia Hills District.
The decision was taken in a meeting of the District Administration with waheh shnong of Jowai Town to discuss on SOPs for Christmas and New Year which was held on December 21.
The meeting unanimously decided that carolling will be allowed, but it has to be within the respective localities only and that there will be no carolling from one locality to another by the respective residents.
The Deputy Commissioner, West Jaintia Hills District reiterates on the need for all the eligible residents of all the localities to get themselves vaccinated. He also thanked the Waheh chnong for their support and their efforts during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.’
