Carrying of cash above fifty thousand prohibited

With the model code of conduct in force due to the ensuing Assembly election the District Magistrate of West Jaintia Hills in an order under section 144 Cr.PC prohibits any person or group of persons from carrying cash above Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees fifty thousand) only in West Jaintia Hills District.

The order comes into force with immediate effect and shall remain in force till the election process is over.
