Cash worth Rs 6 lakh seized in Selsella

SHILLONG: Over Rs 6 lakh was seized from two persons in a place under Selsella constituency on Sunday morning.

Chief electoral officer FR Kharkongor said a total of Rs 6,40,000 was seized by the flying squad team while conducting naka checking near Hallydayganj.

While Rs.4,80,000 has been seized from one Saha at about 10.45 am and Rs.1,60,000 from F Seikh at about 11:00 am, he said.

The seized money has been kept in safe custody of Tura Treasury Strong Room.

Selsella bye election will be held along with Lok Sabha elections to the two parliamentary seats – Shillong and Tura on April 11.

Meanwhile, the CEO informed that over 55 lakh have been seized so far.
