Catholic Association of Shillong to organize silent rally for Manipur
The Catholic Association of Shillong will organize a silent rally on August 5, next from 10 am onward for seeking peace and tranquility in the State of Manipur.
According to Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Shillong Victor Lyngdoh, the rally from Madan Iewrynghep, Laitumkhrah near Fire Brigade and culminate at Don Bosco Stadium, Laitumkhrah, Shillong.
The Archbishop said “In the past months, we have prayed for peace in the world and in a very special way for peace in Manipur. Let us continue to pray for this intention so that peace may prevail in the neighboring state.”
They have see injustice done to women, burning of houses, destroying places of worship, mass exodus of people, and death due to the violence, he also said.
We stand for respect and dignity of human beings in our civilized human society.
Lyngdoh informed, “In connection with the inhumane treatment of women, we join hands with the “Catholic Association of Shillong” who are organizing a ‘Silent Peace Rally’.
He also invited all citizens of Meghalaya to attend the rally.
