Celebration in Kiang Nangbah Government College for accredited B grade by NAAC
The College authorities, teachers, students and staff of Kiang Nangbah Government College celebrate the achievement of grade B awarded by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) on Wednesday.
The Kiang Nangbah Government College is the only government institute in Meghalaya accredited by NACC.
The Kiang Nangbah Government College Jowai was established in 1967 as a premier institution of Higher Education in the West Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya and one of the Government Colleges, which was established in the state.
Located in a vast and well-maintained campus conducive for academic activities, the college offers Arts, Science and Commerce courses at the Degree level.
Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui attended the function as the chief guest.
Deputy Commissioner who is also the Chairman and advisory Committee of the college Garod LSN Dykes, Deputy Director Dr. BD Cajee and Deputy Director E.K Mawkhiew of DHTE, Dr. S R Lyndem, RUSA Consultant were also present.
The NAAC peer team visited the college on 15 and 16 November 2021. The team consists of Ashutosh Ghosh (Chairman), Professor Mohammad Arif (Member Coordinator) and Dr. Ajay Bhamare (Member). The grading has been awarded based on the findings by the NAAC team who had visited the college for 1st cycle of Inspection and assessment.
Speaking at the function Lahkmen Rymbui congratulated the entire college for their hard work and for being the first government to be accredited by NAAC, he said the accreditation will inspire the other government colleges to excel and do better. He added that the accreditation will also add significant value to the college and this will imbibe positive reception in the teachers and the students to maintain the standard of the college and to work with the same spirit in the forthcoming years.
Principal of the College Dr EM Blah in her welcome address expressed her appreciation and thanked the Education Minister for the tremendous effort extended throughout the process.
SMF Blah chaired the programme as well as proposed the vote of thanks.
