Centre sanctions Rs 6 Cr to purchase of 6162 smartphones for Anganwadi workers in Meghalaya: Paul

The Centre has sanctioned over Rs 6 crore for the purchase of 6162 smartphones to Anganwadi workers in Meghalaya.

Informing this on Friday, Social Welfare Minister Paul Lyngdoh said, “I am pleased to announce the sanction of over six crore rupees of funding by the ministry of Women and Child Development for The purchase of 6162 smartphones for use of our beloved Anganwadi workers to improve our performance and services to the people of Meghalaya.”

“Each set costs over Rupees 10000/- and will be distributed to the workers by the end of April 2025,” he added.
