Church seeks action against attempt to create misunderstanding with other denomination
SHILLONG: The Khasi Jaintia Presbyterian Synod Sepngi has sought stern action against miscreants for inciting hatred and misunderstanding with other religious denomination in social media through a fake letter head of the church.
Executive secretary of the KJP Synod Sepngi, Rev KB Snaitang on Friday said the miscreants using a fake letter head has attempted to malign the image of the church and its members by creating and inciting hatred and misunderstanding with other religious denomination, which is not acceptable and most objectionable in law and in practice.
He said the church strongl condemned such information circulated in the social media domain by malafidely and wrongly misusing the name of the KJP Synod Sepngi.
“…the office authority of the KJP synod sepngi had unanimously decided to take strictest move to find out the source of the social media post which had gravely affected the sentiments of the other church denomination and religious community and had vehemently invoked unrest among the church leaders,” Rev Snaitang said.
In order to verify the said criminal act of incitement, he informed that the the office of the KJP had taken the assistance of the Cyber Assistant Cell CID, Shillong so that necessary legal decision can be taken to restrain such unwanted elements from defaming the dignity of the church.
