City Schools closed & frisk on entry of tourists to combat COVID-19
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma informed the Government held a meeting to review the COVID19 situation across Meghalaya on Monday’s afternoon.
The following were the decisions made in a review meeting:
All schools to close from tomorrow for the next 14 days till 4th May, 2021 in the Shillong area. MBOSE examinations to continue unaffected. The situation in other districts is being monitored.
Govt. & Pvt. offices will also function with 50% capacity.
We will close our doors to tourists from outside the state from 23rd April 2021 however, local tourism will continue. There will also be closure in tourist locations that have high tourist footfall.
The time frame for the validity of RT-PCR tests will be reduced from 72 to 48 hrs.
Hotels and eateries to remain open with 50% capacity. Shops to remain open with due adherence to protocols.
An aggressive vaccination drive will also be carried out in the State. Request all citizens above 45 years of age to get themselves vaccinated.
All these measures and restrictions are being implemented to avoid another lockdown in the State. Request all citizens to co-operate and work together to avoid the eventuality of another lockdown.
