Clarification on news item “Ampareen’s sister appointed as Deputy Chairperson”

The news report under the heading “Ampareen’s sister appointed as Deputy Chairperson” is based on a notification No.Health.188/2010/225 Dated 3rd November 2023 published in the Gazette of Meghalaya on 8 February 2024.

It is a fact that Dr. Jasmine Lyngdoh held the position of Deputy Chairperson from 3 November 2023 to 16 January 2024, when her appointment was denotified.

The news report was published as to disseminate information pertaining to the various appointments of political appointees by the MDA Government. The news report has no intention to tarnish the image of any individual.

Hence, the news report is factual as it is based on the above said notification however it is not updated as the MDA Government did not disseminated information pertaining to various political appointees to the media houses and it became known only after the notification is published in the Gazette of Meghalaya that too after a gap of few weeks.
