CM Sarma meets Amit Shah, seeks guidance for Advantage Assam 2.0 business summit
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his official residence in New Delhi to discuss preparations for the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Business Summit.
During the meeting, Sarma briefed Shah on the steps taken by the Assam government to ensure the success of the two-day mega-investment summit in Guwahati, which aims to attract domestic and international investments across key sectors. The Chief Minister also sought Shah’s guidance and insights to maximize the summit’s impact.
Praising Sarma’s efforts, Shah expressed confidence that the summit would bring in significant investments and position Assam as a key driver of India’s economic growth. He said the event would further enhance Assam’s standing as an attractive investment hub and a crucial part of India’s “growth engine”.
The meeting, which lasted over 30 minutes, also saw Sarma felicitating Shah with a traditional Assamese gamocha.
The Advantage Assam 2.0 Business Summit, scheduled for February 25-26, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Following the meeting, Sarma posted on X: “Today in New Delhi, I had the honour of meeting Hon’ble Home Minister Shri @AmitShah Ji to seek his guidance for #AdvantageAssam2.”
