Commissioning of LPG bottling plant, NOC awaited: IOC
SHILLONG: The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has said that work for commissioning of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) bottling plant could not be started as they have not received the No-objection certificate from the Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board (MSPCB).
This was informed by senior council K Khan appearing for IOCL during the hearing conducted by the Meghalaya High Court on a PIL here on Monday.
Khan submitted that the work for commissioning of the LPG Bottling Plant could not be started as so far they have not received the NOC from the MSPCB.
CH Mawlong, counsel appearing for the MSPCB however said that the Board does not have any objection to the LPG Bottling Plant being set up on the proposed site and they shall send a communication to the effect to IOCL within one week.
Khan said that he will make specific statement on the next date after receipt of the NOC from the MSPCB as to within what shortest possible time when the LPG Bottling Plant can be commissioned.
Meanwhile, the next hearing on the matter will be held on March 2.
