Cong releases Nyaypatra in Guwahati, promises CAA repeal once it forms govt in centre
All India Congress Committee (AICC) national general secretary Jitendra Singh on Monday released its Nyaypatra in a city hotel here promising repeal of the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) once it formed government at the Centre.
The Nyaypatra also includes proposals for social justice, reservation cap increase, gender equality steps, and economic policies, aiming for swift GDP growth and GST reforms.
Releasing the Nyaypatra, Singh said: “We are committed to fulfilling all the promises made in the Nayaypatra. Each word of the Nyaypatra reflects the aspirations of the people that Rahulji realizes during the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.”
“It is not the party but the people scripted the five guarantees for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections,” Singh said.
Singh, who is also the in-charge of Assam PCC, alleged: “The BJP-led government in Assama has been imposing ‘a’ special mafia tax called HBS tax’ on all things in the state. The chief minister was directly responsible for it.”
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given big slogans like ‘ache din’, ‘na khaunga aur na khane dunga’. But none of these came true,” Singh claimed.
Singh also alleged that massive scams happened under the Modi government, mentioning the electoral bonds as one of the major ones. “The Assam government is moving in the same direction as the central government. In fact, scams are happening here more than 1.5 times than in Centre,” he claimed.
Singh claimed that its ‘Nyay Patra’ is a blueprint and comprehensive vision for the future of the country. The Nyaypatra has caught the imagination of the country and it has also started a debate among the public about ‘correcting the wrongs of the past 10 years, he said.
“The Nyaypatra has the imprint of youth, women, farmers and workers. It embodies the hope for the future,” he further said.
“This Nyay Patra has solutions to every problem that has arisen in the last 10 years – like unemployment, inflation, economic inequality, crimes against women, the plight of the farmers,” he further said.
“The Nyaypatra is further the voice of India based on 5 pillars of justice. It has an indelible imprint on the people of the country,” he added.
Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Bhupen Kumar Borah, AICC secretary Prithviraj Prabhakar Sathe, AICC secretary (media and communication) Mahima Singh, APCC working president Jakir Hussain Sikdar, vice president Naba Kumar Talukdar and general secretary Ramaanna Baruah were also present during the release of the Nyaypatra.
