Congress decides to suspend 5 MLAs suspended for 3 years
The Congress on Wednesday decided to suspend its five legislators for three years for anti-party activities.
Confirming this over phone, Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Vincent H Pala said that decision was taken by the disciplinary action committee of the AICC.
“Though, I am yet to get the order but I was informed that they have decided to suspend all the five MLAs for three years,” he said.
Pala said that the order will be sent to the five MLAs immediately.
The panel, which met here this morning, recommended the suspension of the five Congress MLAs in Meghalaya for supporting the ruling Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) in the state, defying the party’s directives.
