Congress MLA seek govt’s intervention
Congress legislator from Mawlai Process T Sawkmie on Wednesday sought the intervention of the state government for addressing various issues arising out of the ongoing lockdown to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the state.
Sawkmie in his letter to the chief minister Conrad K Sangma informed that many BPL families in the state including Mawlai constituency are not having BPL card.
He also urged the government to provide financial assistance to the farmers and domestic workers in the state adding there is need to have bailout plan for all poor people staying in rented houses. The MLA further suggested the need to ensure that there is no salary cut to employees working in private organizations and different sectors since lockdown has been imposed.
