Congress releases 2nd list of 16 candidates for ADC polls
The opposition Congress on Friday released the second lists of 16 candidates for the upcoming elections to the autonomous district councils (ADCs) in the Khasi and Jaintia Hills region, slated to be held on February 21.
Of this, 11 are from constituencies under the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) and 5 from the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC).
The candidates for KHADC polls are: Victor Ranee – Jirang, Micky Dauglas Syiem – Umroi, Lamborsing Nongrum – Nongkrem, Rilang Nongkhlaw – Langkyrdem Laitkroh, Monarch Shabong – Nongshken, Batskhem Marbaniang – Mawsynram, B Vitus Rymmai – Sohra, George Sun – Mawphlang Diengiei, G Ningstar Marthong – Nongstoin, Kodang Rashir – Mawshynrut and Pherdonnam Rngaid – Langrin.
The candidates for JHADC polls are: Bitos Sari – Mukhla Ummulong, Katbanbiang Lamare – Nartiang, Richard Singh Lyngdoh – Mynso Nongjngi, Saron Pasweth – Jowai South and Lalwilliam Thiaite – Saipung Nongkhlieh.
So far, the Congress has announced a total 42 candidates for the elections to the two ADCs, of which 16 from JHADC and 26 from KHADC.
