“In view of this, we had a meeting, we scrutinized the candidates as we had called an application from Gambegre,” he said.
“So we got the applications but we will not be able to tell you the names but the committee will submit this to Delhi and Delhi will declare the names. We will be happy to share you the names once Delhi give us the clearance,” he added.

“All of us we agreed on the names and we are quite confident that we will the Gambegre seat and the people as on today, we are doing well and we are united,” he said.
“Though the NPP is trying to promise so many things, If you look most of the ministers’ constituencies are high and dry but in Gambegre today they promised roads, bridges, schools, hospitals,” the Congress chief said.
Alleging the NPP of violating the law of the land, Pala said, “I am told that the NPP and the ministers give instant cheque on the people on the ground so it is totally against the law of the land. It is totally trying to purchase due to desperate in winning the elections because they lost in Garo Hills election, so they are trying to regain that one, that’s why the way they are trying to get our MLAs is just to show the faces of the MLAs Congress, so the MLAs who have gone with them. For the NPP it will be a good story or sucess but for the MLAs it will be a disgrace.”
Asked, Pala said that the Congress has geared up its preparation and is confident to retain Gambegre seat.
