Conrad talk more work less: Dr. Mukul Sangma
TURA: Former Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma today addressed the party workers in Tura Congress Bhavan while welcoming three MDCs along with their supporters to the party.
In his address Dr. Sangma said that “Mr Conrad Sangma will need plenty of homework to do before he can understand about Agar (aquilaria malaccensis) plantation in private land and it’s positive economic ramifications; It is with our initiative that a legal provision for harvesting agar plant for its commercial exploitation is now available.” Said Dr. Mukul Sangma reacting to Conrad Sangma’s alleging him for introducing different flagship mission, which according to Conrad were not result oriented and had led to huge financial burden on the State. Conrad Sangma said that Mukul had introduced Agar and Bamboo mission in Meghalaya during his tenure as Chief Minister without any research or creating document which was based on mapping the skills of the farmers.
“He (Mukul) had introduced several mission in the State which led to financial burden. He was least bothered to executive the mission properly, and the programme failed,” said Conrad K Sangma, addressing several election rallies at Resubelpara in North Garo Hills. To this Dr. Mukul Sangma replied saying if Conrad knows how to run the state he would not have find the several mission livelihood projects we have introduced for the sustainability of the common people as a burden; it shows he failed to run the state and how can he? He being a puppet there are others who pulls the string. Said Dr. Sangma “ I am very sad to see how Conrad spoiled the reputation our government have built. All he does is talk and no work! They (Sangma Brothers) used to say that I have a foundation stone manufacturing factory simply because my government have worked tirelessly to start the numerous projects hence laid numbers of foundation stones of which some of the projects were almost completing before the next government comes and now that very brothers are shamelessly inaugurating the “so called foundation stone factory’s stones” laid by me and my government! They even call me singing Chief Minister for I have a passion for music and I like to sing and of late Conrad himself started singing on national tv; what do you call that? Of course A Hypocrite! Said Dr. Sangma.
According to one research website called PRS Legislative research where you can find what have your MP has done during his/her term; Agatha Sangma’s attendance was only 49% and the numbers of debate was “0”zero , Numbers of question asked was also “0” zero, Private Member’s Bills also “0” zero. Then what was Agatha Sangma doing as an elected MP of Tura not voicing for the people who have given their votes to her so she could voice for the voiceless?! is this why people of Garo Hills elected her to have a vacation in New Delhi? People need to see the facts and not believe in their promises and lies; says Dr. Sangma
While addressing the gathering Dr. Sangma said that he had worked as a capacity of Chief Minister of the state and launched the Meghalaya Health Insurance Scheme, a scheme to provide health coverage to families that exist below the poverty line. Sangma launched multiple Social Assistance Programmes, including the Special Wedding Assistance Scheme for orphaned girls over the age of 18 and a programme for providing aid to single mothers and orphaned girls not to mention about livelihood mission to empower people and many more so given a chance to be your MP of Tura I will give my best to live upto the expectations of the people of the region; we need change and the time is NOW; we have sent the MP from only one family for decades and they think its their personal property; they have been given so many chances to prove themselves in bringing development to the region but they have failed miserably. So let us all vote for the change this time the change for better. Let us create new positive progressive peaceful Garo hills said Dr.Sangma at Congress Bhavan while welcoming new members to the party today.
Dr. Sangma also stressed on how BJP and NPP is the other side of the same coin. Only during elections they pretend to be fighting against each other but in reality they are one and NPP is still part of NDA which is headed by BJP and they are the MDA partners in the state; said Dr. Sangma
